Feeding with inverted nipples

Anyone breastfeed successfully with grade 2 inverted nipples?

I am TTC#1 and would love to breast feed but I am aware this might be a massive issue for both me and baby and I want to make the experience as positive as I can for both of us.

Any advice??

Not sure what grade 2 is, but I managed to breastfeed both my dcs successfully. My nipples were flat, though respond to stimulation iykwim.

With dc1 I was recommended to use a nipples shield to start with, dc sucked, nipple came out and filled nipple shape in shield. After a while I didn't need to use the shield as my nipples became less inverted, and my breastfeeding technique improved.

Hopefully you can too. Good luck with the ttc part Smile

Look up supple cups. I have flat nipples (so not inverted) but had a lot of trouble feeding my first and eventually had to switch to ff. I got these when pregnant with my 2nd and used them to pull the nipples out before latching. I only needed to use them for about 2 weeks and then my nipples were a bit more extended but all my baby was old enough to have gotten the hang of latching even when there wasn’t much there to grab on to. He’s 3 months now and it’s been lovely and no problems at all. Worth a try to see if it helps. You can use them antenatally as well towards the end of 3rd tri.

I have inverted nipples but haven’t had them diagnosed with a particular grade. A quick Google suggests they are grade 2 though.

I breastfed each of my dc for over a year, so it’s definitely possible. They did get cracked and sore at the start. I used Lansinoh, but this was 10 years ago so there might be other products around now.

Thank you so much ladies.
I was so worried. I'll give it a try anyway at least I know it's possible.

There are gadgets such as Niplette, that encourage the nipples to become permanently improved. Best used prior to pregnancy, when you are less sensitive.
