Getting breastfed baby onto bottles.

Just wanted to put my experience with a baby who totally refused bottles and dummies.
I tried to give my boy a dummy from birth, never showed any interest.
Didn't worry too much as my two older children took to bottles as soon as I wanted them to on Tommee Tippee bottles.
No worries.
Not this time, he hated everything I tried I tried every bottle, every cup, through a straw, expressed milk and every brand of powder milk and had the same result.
Just hysterical crying and if it ever went in it was spat out in total disgust.
I asked for help from everywhere and was told it will be fine, just persist.
I have to say the lack of help to get him onto bottles has stolen a big chunk of my maternity as I've just wasted it worrying about how the hell I get back to work (don't want to, need to).
So I searched the Internet and got nothing until I stumbled on a post on here, can't find the wonderful poster as it was another middle of the night search and I've forgotten.
It was as simple as this...... She put a little bit of strawberry milkshake syrup in the bottle.
And yes, I know sugar OH NO HIS TEETH! OH NO OBESITY!.

I stopped breastfeeding him in the day and tried everything even spoon feeding him milk, and for the first time since birth he didn't put on weight when I took him for a checkup, so I was ready to try anything.

I made up his bottle and put literally A Drop of strawberry crusha milkshake syrup.
And he took the entire bottle.
It's a miracle, he'll now take breast milk out of the bottle no additions but formula has to have a drop of strawberry in it.
This won't be for everyone and my health visitor wagged her finger at me but my baby boy is happy, I'm happy and I can finally see me being able to work without him being totally beside himself when I can't be there.

Sorry for the essay but I needed help, so I hope this helps someone x

I wouldn’t worry. When my DS wouldn’t take anything but the smoothest purees it was our HV who suggested giving him chocolate. Worked a treat.

Hi, please can you tell me how old your baby was when you did this?
I'm having the same issue with my baby but she is only four months old - been trying to give her the bottle everyday for over 7 weeks now!
