Bottle feeding 8.5 month old

Hi all,

So my 8.5 month old daughter has decided to wean herself, I was hoping to feed for a year but all of a sudden my previous bottle refuser doesn't like my boobs! So I was hoping for some bottle feeding advice - how many bottles a day should she be having and amounts, what time do you give bottles? She is on 3 meals a day baby led weaning and is a good eater, she wakes once overnight for a feed, if I only feed her this one time will my supply dry up or will it just let me feed this once? At night how do you settle a baby to sleep who has previously breast fed to sleep!? So many questions! Easter Confused

Also I'm going to Spain next month ... what am I meant to do bottle feeding in Spain!?!

Thanks Grin

That’s a lot of questions, I’ll try my best! Smile

Firstly, do you want to stop Bfing? It’s fine if you do but if you want to try to get over the nursing strike, just say.

I don’t think it matters how many bottles you give. The recommended minimum is 20floz. I’d try a minimum of one before breakfast, one before her afternoon nap and one before bed.

Your supply should be well established by now so if you just want to feed at night your supply should cope Smile

You can take enough formula for the flight only on the plane, I could be wrong about that though. Boots do a preorder service where you can pick up more formula or ready made airside after check in.

Can you bottle feed her to sleep?

I would suggest a munchkin 360 cup instead of a bottle, she’ll pick it up quickly how to use it and it’s much, much better for their teeth and dental health. Nearly 9 month olds don’t need a bottle!
