Hi any mums used this product? Beginning weaning next month at 6 months and saw this machine on offer at ASDA. Would any one recommend? Thanks x

Ooh I’d love to know. I saw it at Mothercare. I’m starting to wean at 22 weeks, wanted to start making food early though.

A cheap hand blender might be cheaper and more useful

🙄 yet another pointless machine to “help” you complete a pointless task.
Save your money and just feed baby small bits of your own food from 6 months. The aim of weaning is to introduce Your child to eating- and people don’t eat puréed food. So why add in an unnecessary step?
Baby Led weaning. It really is the least faff. And least cost.

Bloody hell £70!! No I wouldn't buy it as it won't be used for long. At least a hand blender can be used for things other than baby food

I wouldn't recommend it, it's expensive and you would only use it for a couple of weeks. If you are going down the puree route you can use ordinary pans (with a steamer basket) and a basic stick blender.
However you can also just mash up the food you've cooked for yourself with a fork or offer it as finger foods.

I saw those when I weaned DS1 as we tried purees with him but I decided against it because it looked quite small so I would be able to make huge batches of anything and also wouldn't be able to use it after weaning to cook adult meals.

Instead we used a regular steamer (about £25) and the stick blender attachment from our Kmix (but you can get a simple stick blender for £20). Cheaper, more efficient and still in use now weaning is over!

When I was weaning dc1 I used to look longingly at these knowing I couldn't afford it. In hindsight I'm delighted I didn't spend the money. I used a cheap stick blender and the puree stage lasts a relatively short time, so at least I still have a stuck blender that's useful as opposed to a baby steamer thing!
