moral support needed!

Well I am still hanging in here - bfing ds2 (age 8 weeks tomorrow). Last night he fed all night. I swapped sides every half hour to 45mins as I would get uncomfortable. He didn't settle at all between times, and lay there kicking me, which was really quite mean I thought!
The night before he was a love - fed (I think) 3 times and then slept inbetween times. I say "think" because we are co-sleeping and sometimes he attaches himself!
I am sure last night was often comfort sucking but it still meant I got very very little sleep. Today he has been feeding a lot (usually will go 2 hours, today probably longest has been 1.5hrs)
I just feel knackered. Nearly gave in this afternoon and gave some ff but in the end took him out in the car and bought a wilkinet!
If anyone says this is a growth spurt I may get violent - because that is what i have been told about his feeding patterns every couple of weeks since he was born (and he hasn't put on a huge amount of weight either!!)

So - summing it all up - I am just after some moral support to keep going. I know this will get easier - it just seems a long way off at the moment. Also wondering whether to splash out on an amby natures nest for bed - he hates his crib, (which I can sort of understand when the alternative is nice and cosy and near the all night buffet) but I really really don't like co-sleeping with him - especially when he kicks me all night.

Sorry to ramble on.

OK - dh says that if I am even considering taking to bed for a couple of days with the baby I can forget it!! Not sure he is keen for full responsibility of toddler and house management!!

Porridge - don't like it - but am eating lots and lots of oaty biscuits that a friend gave me the recipe for and they are delicious! (and easy to make with toddler - so provide some toddler time for him too!)

Wilkinet - fabulous - DS2 seems to love it - and doesn't hurt my shoulders like the baby bjorn we borrowed for DS1. Could wear it all the time!

Anyhow - still persevering with the whole bfing thing - and enjoying a bit of eurovision. How's about that Ukrainian chap/chappess?! He was ace!

drink lots!

several of us on the April thread have found that the more water we drink, the more milk we produce

and as i learnt last week that cows produce milk in relation to how much water they drink, i'm going with it!

kateyp · 12/05/2007 21:57

Yeah - I probably don't drink enough.

Having said all this - he seems to have been a bit more settled today/tonight. Will see how tonight goes!

Thank you al!

Psychobabble, I've just bought a kimmer sling. DD objected to it the first time I tried her in it but I put it on my left shoulder and took her out and she slept all the way round the town.

Yes it's really easy. You just pull it on like a sash and stuff the baby inside . I've never used one before and it was very straightforward once i'd sussed out which way round to put it.
