Lower milk supply after mastitis?

I've just had mastitis and was wondering if it is normal to have a reduced milk supply afterwards? I had it on my "good" side, and now seem to have much less milk, even though I kept feeding regularly on both sides. I normally express each morning so DH can do the last feed of the day, and whereas before I was easily expressing 4-5oz, now I'm struggling to get 2-3oz. Also, my breasts aren't getting that "full" feeling. Anyone else had this? Any tips as to how to boost it?

lulupop, i had mastitis 3 times with dd1 and that side has never been as productive since, even though I alternate them. it was the same with the expressing too. how much are you feeding and how old is your baby?

lulupop - do you express when DH is giving last feed? To increase milk supply, just feed more often. Make sure your breasts do not get overful as this can lead to mastits hence why I am asking if you express at the last feed.

I found the same when I had mastitis twice with ds1, lulupop (in fact, it's the reason I introduced solids spot on the 4 months with him - I'd just had my second bout of mastitis on the other side and he was ravenous all the time, in retrospect not sure if I did the right thing or not).

I was never sure whether it was the mastitis itself or the antibiotics I took to clear it up both times or the fact that ds1 wouldn't feed on that side until it was all cleared up, so I had to rely on expressing to drain that side.

Don't have any other advice to add to mears', but wanted to reassure you that you're not going mad
