6 month old seems starving?!

So my dd turned 6 months yesterday. She is formula fed and has a 5oz bottle, fast flow teats, almost every hour. We've tried giving her more she just stops at 5oz and is then hungry an hour later. But now it's in the night too she eats around every two hours. Please tell me it's just a growth spurt and will pass! I'm exhausted. Thanks!

I always found with my babies that just as you feel you have got it all figured out they decide to have a growth spurt and it all goes out of the window

But yes, I do remember growth spurts at 6 months, and my rule of thumb is that if I can remember it a few years later, it must have been bad enough to make me remember it!

Plus there's more calories in milk than in a bit of mashed carrot or whatever, so you're not starving her.

Glad it's just a growth spurt. I'm absolutely exhausted, going to bed has become a battle. She's at the 'scream when mum and Dad walk away' faze too. Extra demanding! No we are sticking with milk I won't be upping her food intake!

I remember these 6 months spurts/sleep regressions too, awful!

Both of mine were very ready to ramp up to 3 meals a day by 6 months but every baby is different. I do remember that by 7 months dd1 was getting a bit of milky porridge before bedtime that seemed to really help her do a bit longer of a first stretch, maybe up to 4 hours?

That didn't work with dd2 though . Hang in there.

Yes it felt like she'd just started sleeping and the newborn endless nights had stopped and now feels like she's a newborn again!!! X

I agree with HalfStar re: milky porridge before bed! I still give DS porridge before bed sometimes
