How can I encourage 8mo to feed more in the day?

He's easily distracted and rary settles for a proper feed in the day. I also have a manic toddler, who the baby is often put off feeding by.

He has a bottle (formula) at bedtime and breast fed the rest of the time including numerous times too numerous to count at night . He is eating solids three times especially a day in varying degrees .

Some babies wean more.....enthusiastically than others. My dd started to reduce bfeeds by 8 months (by quite a lot, far more than ds) I used to offer bm and she would have a tiny drink or refuse. I didn't do anything except increase her dairy food. Well, that's not true, I fretted and fussed and posted on here and went to see the health visitor. But it just boiled down to the fact that she was weaning! You can lead a horse to water and all that.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear. He feeds loads overnight. I know I've read on here and the sleep board about calorie loading in the day so they don't need feeding at night but wondering how to do it if you bf?

I honestly don't think you can with bf. I fed dd exactly as you have, bf all of the time but with one ff at bedtime. I think by 8 months she was having 7 oz of f at bedtime and any bf I could get down her during g the day. She fed fairly regularly, every 4 hours or so but her feed became increasingly brief u til she wouldn't take the breast at all by 10-11 months. How much f does your ds have at bed time? How much food and what types of food is he having?

He also has 7 ozone at bedtime. Yesterday he had alphabites for breakfast and some strawberries. Scrambled egg with a bit of toast and butter for lunch. Pasta with cheese sauce and peas and carrots for dinner. He eats varying amounts but is always keen to eat!

He usually has alphabites for breakfast. Lunches are Scrambled eggs, Chesee on toast, ham or dairy lea sandwich, breadsticks crudités and dips. Dinners are omelette and beans, bolognaise, Shepherds pie and veg, sausage, sweet potato fries and corn. Etc.
