Baby due in December and we want to combination feed-I've been reading that it's better to wait 4-6 weeks then introduce a bottle ?
Is this right I have no idea!!!

When I breastfed my daughter 2 years ago I was told that but only so the baby could establish actually feeding from the breast and so the bottle wouldn't confuse the baby with the difference in nipple/teat. I combi fed from around 2 weeks as my milk production was low but expressed as DD wasn't keen on breast.. unsure of whether it was due to confusion of the early introduction of the bottle .. although midwife would swear blind that's the reason!

We are thinking initially just to introduce one bottle in the evening and then at a later point another in the morning. The plan is after that for baby to accept a bottle at any other point too if needed (we have a dd with quite significant medical probs so sometimes I need to rush off or we both do and we need to be able to leave baby if we have to go to hospital etc), I'm just anxious to get it all 'set up' as early as I can once baby is here!
I want to combination feed so baby gets benefits of breast milk but is able to take a bottle for the reasons above. I just keep reading not to do it for the first 4-6 weeks
