Reflux - GP visit required?

Hi all,

My DD is 9 weeks old and has had reflux symptoms for the past few weeks, e.g. bringing up milky cottage cheese-like lumps, acidy breath, gasping and squeaking during feeds (she's EBF), pulling her knees up, wanting to be upright etc.

I consider the symptoms to be quite manageable, she only occasionally cries with discomfort (usually in the evening and after feeds) and she's usually pretty easy to comfort and calm down.

I'm feeding little and often so not to overwhelm her, and keeping her upright after feeds. I've also tilted her crib (she sleeps 6-8 hours at night). My question is do I still need to take her to see a GP? She's my first baby so it's all very new to me!

Thank you!

I took my baby as he lost his voice due to acid and was difficult to feed dribbling everything. Wasn't vomiting a lot. Needed ranitidine and it's ok now. Watch for other symptoms as reflux can mimic cow Milk allergy. Gaviscon would be the first medication they would prescribe. Milk tickener as well. Keep him upright after feeds for 20 min and avoid too large volume at once if you notice this triggers more symptoms

If youre happy with how shes doing, shes gaining weight, wet and dirty nappies etc then theres no need to see the gp if you dont want to!
