ds2 is 22 weeks old. We had trouble with him bringing up a lot of his feeds until we put him on milumil. He has been fine on it til now. He wont take it. He starts sucking on the bottle then just spits it out. Is it possible he just doesnt like it anymore?? I am concerned he isn't taking enough now. Should I try a different brand second stage formula now he is a bit older? He might not be sick on it anymore? The milumil is a second stage milk but one that is gentler on the stomach.

maybe, I dont know!

I know my two when their teeth start errupting (not necessarily teething) they started to refuse the bottle because their mouths were sore.

I'm not sure either.

My dd is 26 weeks and she has become messier with her bottles and chews the teats. She has started on solids and is showing signs of teething so I put it down to this.

Sorry that wasn't much help, what about buying ready made cartons of other brands so you dont waste the big tins? Thats what a friend of mine did when she was trying to find a first milk that her dd wouldn't throw back.

Is he healthy and not showing signs of being poorly or feverish and 'off his food' for any other reason, busybee? What does HV say?

Hope you don't mind me asking - did the HV say the milumil was gentler on the stomach than other second formulas, or was it something you read? Forgive my curiosity : )

does he need a faster flowing teat? my dd seemed to show less interest, but perked up again when I changed to a faster flowing teat.

When our DS3 was tiny, he's only 9 months now so it wasn't that long ago, I had a battle with every bottle. The HV suggested that he might not like the milk any more which I thought was a load of crap, how could he have gone off it when that was all he'd ever tasted?
Well I was in for a shock as when I changed to a different make he drained the whole bottle in 10 minutes. Before he was taking up to an hour and sometimes longer with all the fighting.

tiktock milupa claim themselves that milumil is gentler on the stomach.

I have tried changing the teat to a fater one and he just gags on it.

He has about 2oz out of each bottle, about 6 a day so he is having about 12-15 oz a day.

He is a good weight and doesnt seem ill in any way.

He wakes up loads in the night still.

HV doesnt seem concerned. Said to try and sneak it into his food.

Well, I guess it must be true, then, busybee

I don't know on what grounds they claim this....

busybee123 · 18/07/2004 15:21
