Minbie - do I believe the hype?

Since I bought a couple of different bottles on Amazon my Facebook has been popping up with adverts for Minbie left, right and centre (big brother is watching you!!). My dd3 is 5 weeks old and I'm not having any luck with tommee tippee or Dr Brown's (which dd1 and 2 took to petfectly). She is ebf but I need her to be happy taking a bottle of expressed milk. Is the minbie really some miracle for bottle refusing babies?

Hope she's taken it again.. our other DS liked to be facing outward.. being jigged & Also outside.. then he would take bottle! Weird xx

Unfortunately not having any of it come 7pm, she just wants mummy. She will take a couple of oz during the day but that's not really when I need/want her to. She is however now going down for the night at 10.30/11pm and sleeping til 2.30/3am so the cluster feeding is getting slightly easier 😊

my DD took the bottle first time I gave it her at about 6 months then refused it since. I have a NUK one which in my opinion is more like a boob in the way it doesn't come out the tip, but slightly under. I ended up giving DD milk through straw cups instead which worked, as it wasn't trying to replicate boob. hope you find a solution and that t works for you!

Sorry guys, I don't normally post reviews but we are so disappointed with our Minbie purchase that I have to share...

We have had leak after leak and there's been no way to resolve it, we've been in touch with the team and tried to trouble shoot, but it's just been so frustrating.

Don't believe the hype - this is NOT a fuss-free bottle - and agreed that babies take to it well, but the amount of milk we've wasted and the number of times we have leaked milk all over our child does not balance that out.

Really really disappointed in this brand...

Really curious about response you got- I too have a fast let down and am struggling to get little man to take milk from anything other than me. I return to work in a month so starting to worry- he’s 8 months

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue that I’m experiencing with my little one. He’s 4 weeks and breastfed. He takes a bottle of expressed milk, but recently has been looking like the flow is too fast for him. He chokes, gets windy and becomes upset. He is fed by myself the majority of the time, but I need to be away for the odd feed and would like to try and find a suitable bottle for these occasions. I have tried the advent and dr brown’s bottles so far. I think I need a bottle with a very slow flow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Becky.

Hi Becky, we’ve been having the same problem with our 6 week old. Have you tried the Dr Brown’s ’Premmie’ bottle? It has an extra slow flow teat. We used it for the first time yesterday and after some perseverance he took it then and again today. Unlike all the other brands we’ve tried there was no spluttering, he drank comfortably and he didn’t seem to be flooded by the milk. I think it only comes with a 60ml bottle unfortunately but it may be worth a try if you haven’t already.

Thank you so much cc1880. I have not tried the premier bottle, so I will get one ordered. Thank you so much for your advice 😁

Getting very frustrated with Minbie - been 2+ months and they are out of stock on size +1 nipples...and they keep promising they will be in in a week or two. Nice product, but if they don’t have stock what good is it....they need to get their act together....

I’ve had success with Minbie with my little bottle refuser! Tried about 4 different types of bottle, in the end went with Minbie and just stuck at it. It took about 3 weeks for him to really get it and latch on properly, but now there’s no stopping him! I think whichever bottle you go for, persistence is the key. I used it for one feed every single day, some days he wouldn’t drink it, just chewed the teat! But one day it just clicked and we’ve never looked back. I don’t think there is a ‘miracle’ bottle, but Minbie do replicate the BF latch.
