Warming expressed milk in a bottle

Hi

Sorry I feel like I'm always posting on here for advice, but I have a quick question that's probably a silly one...

We have been trying to introduce a bottle of expressed milk to DS, and are not having much success. We've just realised that although DH stands the refrigerated bottle in warm water to take the chill off, the milk is still quite cold afterwards.

How do people heat up expressed milk when it comes out of the fridge? (ie in what temp water and for how long)?

I've briefly looked online at bottle warmers but I'm not sure it's worth spending money on...

Thanks very much!

Put bottle in a jug of boiling water and test on your arm

Use boiling water like Mintich says, couple of minutes, give it a bit of a shake. Test on hand. Longer if needed and keep it in the jug whilst having a break from feeding. It can be up to 37 degrees c if you've got a thermometer to test it. My baby won't take anything cold or even tepid. Has to be perfectly warmed!

Yup like PP said stand it in a bowl of boiling hot water and check that it's warm after a couple of minutes or so.

Thanks everyone, I think it's obvious where we've been going wrong now - DH has just been using tepid water for fear of overheating the milk, but it's not actually been heating it! I'll tell him to use hotter water!
