Infant feeding

Best teats for expressed bottles.

My 12 week old baby has been EBF from the start and had been taking the odd bottle of expressed milk to let me get a long lie, etc. However, she is currently refusing point blank to take the bottle, and screaming when offered.
We've been using Medela bottles with calma teats, as they're supposed to mimic bf the best, but I think we're going to have to try something else. Anyone got any recommendations? I'd really like to keep her on expressed milk so I can get out without her sometimes!
With hindsight, we should have kept her on the bottles more regularly to keep her used to it, but too late now!

I mixed fed my twins between BF & FF & found they took well to the MAM bottles. May be worth a try. Good luck!

My DS also took to MAM bottles really well. Mind you, we also used a MAM dummy which was the same shape so might have helped.

He did also feed from the Tommie Tippie "Back to Nature" bottle / that's but took FOREVER to feed. I just wasn't a fan, so have used solely MAM bottles. These have the added convenience of being able sterilise them in the microwave with just bottle / teat, no other equipment required.

I should add that he gets a mixture of breastfeeding and bottle feeding - sometimes in the same feed. It doesn't seem to phase him Smile

(and there's a typo above that's = teat)

Sounds great - we'll give the MAM ones a go I think. She also uses MAM dummies and loves then very much so that may work.
Am a little concerned about her preferring bottles to breast but if we keep it to a couple of bottles a week should be ok hopefully.

Good luck with it. I started with an evening bottle only, then increased it the following week to a couple a day. Hopefully yours will be like mine and just happy to get milk! (Although he's a fussy beggar and refuses it unless it's warm.... Even when he's screaming for milk! Confused)
