fat baby won't eat!

I've posted about this before, but it's getting worse.

DS is breastfed and nearly 6 months. He won't take a bottle and won't take formula from a cup (well, we've managed about 1oz with a lot of effort). I've started him on solids, but he doesn't take those very well either usually - only a few spoonfuls a feed and sometimes none (but I don't want to push this too hard).

But now he won't breastfeed either unless I'm either lying down in a quiet room or in a contorted position in a car seat. Until this week, I wasn't able to do that in the day (have 2 yr old dd), so he was taking probably about half of his milk intake in the night. This week we have visitors and the nights are much better (2 short wake-ups last night - heaven! ), but they're leaving tomorrow.

Does anybody have any ideas at all of something else I can try? I don't mind dropping the breastfeeding, though I'd rather keep the breakfast-in-bed feed for a few months. But I need him to feed another way because I need to work, look after dd and sleep!

Just to explain the title - I'm not worried about him as he is putting on weight well and quite chubby. However this is because of all his night-feeding, I'm sure of it.

My 6-month old dd2 has only just started on solids and isn't tooo impressed. The only food she really really likes is a sort of milky rice porridge sold under the brand name of Cerelac. It's very vanilla-y and quite sweet, and very politically-incorrect, being made by Nestle. It's not available in supermarkets, but Turkish/Greek/Portuguese corner shops stock it.

I try not to give it to her all the time, but it's the only thing I know she'll always eat, which can be useful when it's nearly bedtime and you know she hasn't eaten enough.
