Old baby bottles

Hi - just wondering what people tend to do with old bottles?

I replaced mine recently as I read you should do after 3 months. However it feels wrong to just throw them away - are they reusable or should I just recycle them? (they're plastic)

Might sound like a stupid question but feels like a waste!

Thanks

I pushed my few to the back of the pantry..... Then gs came along and I bought some new teats to keep at our house!! Also keep one as a measure for the dc to use for baking instead of my glass jugs!!

I put mine out for the recycling. I'm sure they would be recyclable

You don't need replace baby bottles every three months. What a waste. I should imagine the bottle companies think it's marvellous.

You don't need to replace bottles after 3 months, what a waste! Replace teats when required and replace bottles if they are scratched or damaged, not just for the sake of it

All good points above- the plastic ones do tend to discolour a bit so don't think its a bad idea to assess them although agree its a waste and the manufacturers are having a laugh.

Local schools and nurseries might like them for their role play areas. I take mine into work for to use with our home corner and baby clinic role plays.

Baby bottles are not made from plastic which can be recycled.

Bluebeedee · 02/06/2017 12:57

Didn't realise they were supposed to be replaced every 3 months? Whats the reason for this?

Janek · 02/06/2017 13:01

Profit!!!

Louiselouie0890 · 02/06/2017 13:02

I never changed them lol I checked them every now and again nothing wrong with them. I binned mine kept one for his memory box

Bottles do not need to be replaced every 3 months. I only replace them when I needed to. Teats can be replaced yes, but no need for bottles to be.

I totally agree on this, I’ve searched that MAM actually have a recycling program if you look on their website (if they are the type of bottles you have used) glass bottles can go in recycling along with glass products. It’s a valid question and I thing more manufacturers should have this mandatory. We need more recycling!!
