That even after a combined exclusive bf time of 2 1/2 years with 3 children, I still miss it and can't believe that I will never have a let down reflex again (sob)

CarGirl · 17/03/2007 18:51

that making bottles is a complete faff, especially when you remember at 10pm at night.

that ff babies have really smelly poo

that some of them self wean quickly and really young

bf is much easier & quicker than ff (I mean in established circumstances like yours)

weepootleflump · 17/03/2007 19:05

that I wasn't weird because I was still feeding dd at 7 months. Stopped at 8 months purely because of peer pressure - a day didn't go past when someone would say 'are you still feeding her?' 'when are you going to stop?'

I won't be so wet next time.

bump as still cant make up my mind

when you ff you actually have to pay attention . Both hands, bib at the ready, regular burping.. not to mention reckoning up how many sterilised bottles you'll need each time you leave the house.

Kif · 20/03/2007 15:45

And it's no longer funny that your kitchen looks like something Kim and Aggie would get their teeth into.

WinkyWinkola · 21/03/2007 11:34

How long your nipples get. It's 'orrible and I hate that part of it.

WinkyWinkola · 21/03/2007 11:35

Sorry. Misread thread title. Thought it said started bfing, not stopped! Whoops!

tiktok · 21/03/2007 11:58

Winky - long nipples? That's really not everyone's experience, honest

thehairybabysmum · 21/03/2007 12:07

That after 4 months of pain and the guilt in deciding to give up not bf was actually ok and didnt find it a big deal.

Could never manage the discreet thing as always had to hold the boob i was feeding from and it was heaven to feed ds in public without most of my upper body being on display.

Sorry everyone, iam pro bf and will do it again but never found it easy and quite frankly was a relief to stop

WinkyWinkola · 21/03/2007 14:13

Must be just freakyme, TikTok with the old nipple problem. I hope they revert back to their normal size one day.

That it wasn't the end of the world (cos it sure felt like it at the time).

So sorry about greensleves, that is just awful. I had hellish pressure with DD1 to FF after she failed to gain her birth weight after 6 weeks. Ended up 80%BF until 7mths and felt very underconfident about it all. Then after stopping and having all that, is my milk good enough vibe all those months, the milk took two months to dry up. Two months!

I think if you want a break for illness or whatever from BF, it's all about supply and demand. So express every few hours , like you were feeding and the milk will remain. Then like previously suggested feed more often to re establish. Women in countries who aren't fed as well as us have less fat, calories in their milk. All they do is feed more often, their babies still grow. All the pressure to have them sleeping through the night etc is just nonsense, unless you are at the point of killing yourself with tiredness.

Managing just fine BF DS a big fattie
