sorryI am going to go into far too much not needed detail here... bear with me!
DD was breastfed exclusively until 11 months, with mixed feeding up to 16 months when she finally gave up the breast off her own accord.
She had her first bottle at 11 mths and this was mainly as she was low weight and needed a supplement (high calorie milkshake style drink), she would not take enough of it in a cup or syringe so we tried her with a bottle and successfully got her to take the supplement that way, lately we were out without a bottle and had to try to give it to her through the little straw, she took it fine and drained the pack!
But we did give her milk out of the bottle from 16 mths til now as it was quicker and she drunk more etc she does enjoy it but drinks water out of a cup so we summised it was a good time to drop the bottle. She does not have it to go to bed etc. She sleeps fine and never has a bottle aside from upon waking (we substituted by giving her proper breakfast first thing, and then late afternoon after dinner to top her up, plus her supplement in two feeds middle of the day time (20 mls in total).
How long will it take her to forget the bottle? she has been pretty ok all day today to be honest without it, but part of me wonders if she has a right to still suck.... more maternal guilt
IE: if was still lucky enough for her to be b/f I would gladly still give her that, so am I being mean?
Phew finished, if you;re still awake and would care to comment, THANKS!

I know ds had a bottle til 3, cannot recall how I got him off it, only that it was not abd enough to be memorable, but his teeth were rotten at age 9 and we were told that was likely why!
He to was b/f til 16 mths so why I bothered putting him on I'll never know!
She has not missed it today and has gone to bed and is asleep, fair to say I think we've cracked it...
Not sure about the guilt though LOl
