Should I move to hungry baby milk for 16day old baby who wants fed every 1.5/2hrs?

My baby boy is 16days old. He was doing well & settling most of last week, sleeping 3-4hrs but all of sudden since the weekend he has not settled well during the day but especially through the night, wakening every 1.5/2hrs for a feed or after 4oz/120ml he wants more. I know his stomach is small so can't really give him too much more but thinking of trying Hungry Baby Milk as this may settle him and fill him up. Seems to be since we started using the bottle making machine with formula switched from the ready made btls from the fridge. Literally got 3hrs sleep last night on the couch as he just isn't settling to sleep in our room after his bottle sometimes taking over 2hrs to fall asleep in my arms in the middle of the night. Help, I'm an emotional wreck!

I have just checked my baby diary and my DD moved to 5oz feeds when she was 9 days old. She usually had somewhere in between 120 and 140 mls at each feed. She was a hungry girl but we were able to manage with standard formula.

I had a great maternity nurse helping me and her number one tip was to make sure the baby is well burped. The "fourth trimester" concept may be very popular now (and it basically tells you there is little you can do) but very often there is a simple way to calm the baby down. Apparently, when a very young swaddled baby does not settle after a feed, in 90% cases the issue is wind. My DD started sleeping miles and miles better once I figured out how to burp her properly.

I was also going to ask if you use a dummy. I know the 3-4 hours feeding schedule is outdated but if you are feeding 4oz every 2 hours then it could be too much for his little stomach. Does he need his sucking reflex satisfied maybe?

Sounds like he needs a dummy as he wants to suckle to sleep. You don't want to overfeed.

Is he actually unsettled crying etc or is he just awake and fidgety? Have you tried swaddling? Some babies like being cosy. My little boy didn't like being nursed, when he was tired he just wanted tucked into his pram or basket and left to it, have you tried that? Also second a dummy.
