My lo is neatly 1yo and mostly lives off milk. Currently that means eating half of all the meals at nursery (refusing all milk at nursery) and drinking several bottles at night :( while only picking at any solid food offered at home.

The health visitor has said that she is way behind and needs to be off milk asap :(

Other than just stop giving her milk i.e. Starve her I don't know what to do.

Help!

She'll make the change when she's ready.

Offer food first. Don't make a fuss.

Babies don't all conform to the 'ideal' timeline. It's an average

Food first change the environment try eating outside in a cafe friends houses etc

If the milk is really an issue add a bit of water so it doesn't taste as nice and offer food too

My son was similar, it took a very long time for him to eat 3 meals a day. He lived mostly on milk for a good 18 months, the only solid food he would eat was fruit and breadsticks! What kinds of things will she eat? If she is eating half of the meals at nursery at least that's something!

My DD is 2 - still has milk (although full fat cows milk now) first thing am and last thing before bed. I thought some milk per day until some point between 2-3 was the general recommendation?? (I forget what month its meant to at, and recommendations online and published in leaflets tend to contradict each other and at some point become a bit vague) She has 3 small meals per day and we are gradually bringing in snacks (but often something will be refused). Have you tried banana and other mushy foods at home?
