I breastfed almost uninterrupted for 7 years (three pregnancies), and including tandem feeding, and my breasts are very pert lovely b-cups [smug emoticon]. I can get away without wearing a bra.
They did take a while to regain their pertness once the last one weaned himself - maybe 4 months.

sorry to hear you're unhappy with your norks.

nally · 05/03/2007 23:20

well i only briefly breastfed dd1 and ds, didnt breastfeed dd2 at all and they are definitely worse now than before, so would agree its prob pregnancy and not breastfeeding that does them in. the only people i know not to mind are my friends who were flat-chested before having babies

nally · 05/03/2007 23:22

obviously does depend on your size then. mine would probably be perky if i was a b-cup too!

Spidermama · 05/03/2007 23:23

There's hope for me yet then geek. I've been bf-ing on and off, mostly on, for 8 years now and my last 'baby' just turned two and is still feeding. I nkow it'll soon come to an end for good and I fear the fried egg effect.

Some people say they lose weight when they stop breastfeeding. Is that your experience socci?

Well that's inspiring at least socci.

My boobs are definitely saggier at the moment even though I'm still bf-ing. Pre children I never wore a bra. I found them uncomfortable and I never needed too. I didn't understand why so many women seemed to wear them.

Now I understand totally. I wear a bra every day without fail and I also wear padded, lift-me-up bras if necessary.

I didn't breastfeed ( but we won't go into that) and mine aren't that different in shape or perkiness at all. They do feel very slightly softer than before I was pg.

Adorabelle · 05/03/2007 23:42

My dd is now a Big 2.9 & still having at
least 2 b.feeds a day.

My norks are great, 36d & not at all saggy.
But I am a wee bit worried that they will become 'spaniel ears' when she weans completely.

macneil · 05/03/2007 23:56

One thing that ruins your knockers is expressing for about an hour at a time half a dozen times a day. Mine are covered in stretch marks now around the nipple. I know you're not supposed to do it for more than 10 mins, but 10 mins gives like 5mls and 45 mins gives 60-150mls, so if I'm going to do it I might as well do it. My knockers are also huge at the moment, I will be happier, I think, when I stop this nonsense and let them shrink again, but fear for the state of them, they used to look like Keely Hazell's, honestly, even at 34, and I think all this nursing bra business and general hugeness has seen standards fall considerably.

colditz · 05/03/2007 23:56

No, but pre children was 4 years and 2 pregnancies ago. I was 22 then - am nearly 27 now. They are a bit saggy.

colditz · 05/03/2007 23:57

Plus, depends on bra size yes? I am the same size (40E) but different shape

nally · 05/03/2007 23:59

they used to be fuller at the top, before babies

Well done macneil for having the will power
to keep expressing for that amount of time!

I too couldn't get a drop in 5 mins so used to think 'bugger this' & I wouldn't leave dd cos I knew she'd go hungry.
Have a few stretch marks that were not there prior b.feeding but nowt too serious to worry about.

BassMama · 06/03/2007 00:16

I didnt breastfeed my son (not through choice but lets not get started on THAT!)

My breasts are beautiful, 34D, VERY perky (pass the pencil test!) perfectly rounded (so much so that I have been asked a fair few times if they are FAKE!!) soft and my absoloute joy!!

I love my boobs - can you tell?!

natric01 · 06/03/2007 00:16

Wish I could go without a bra - breast fed 1st for 6 mths breasts went from 38DD to 40E. Breast fed 2nd till 8 mths breasts went from 40E to 42F now breast feeding 3rd he's 5 mths but I returned to work today part time but he won't take formula so work allowing me to have expression breaks but breasts currently 44G. God how they get smaller this time as the nipples point to the south poll already and my friends tell me if you can hold a pencil under them then they are officially saggy. I can hold a large a full pencil case and when I lie down it says there God help me!!!! When I'm 40yrs I'll need a bra to ensure I don't knock them on my knees when I walk.

nappyaddict · 06/03/2007 01:44

i've heard after breast feeding your boobs either go really saggy or really small?

i wouldn't know as i only managed to bf ds for 3 months so i don't think it was enough to make a difference. i think they are slightly saggier but more due to pregnancy.

mamama · 06/03/2007 01:54

I did BF (for 17 months) and mine are smaller so not really saggier. They didn't get any bigger during pregnancy though.

nappyaddict · 06/03/2007 02:16

no mine only did slightly.

macneil · 06/03/2007 05:38

I want BaseMama's breasts. They sound beeeyootiful. Pencil test passing at 34D defies gravity.

macneil · 06/03/2007 05:39

Bass sorry. Idiot memory.
