dreamfeed advice

my 10 week old BFG has bath at 7pm followed by mini massage & bottle of formula from dad who then winds her & gets her to sleep & pops her into crib in time for tea at 8pm. She used to wake at 10/11pm for a feed but often a bit of a struggle getting back to sleep then through to 4am then 7/8am. Has recently stopped waking for the 10/11pm feed and waking at 2ish then 6/7am. One less feed but worse for me as getting shorter blocks of sleep than before.
Someone at baby group suggested dreamfeed at 10/11pm. They hadnt tried it as their LO still waking lots. Tried a search but found more threads about stopping it and many seemed to mention bottle at 10/11pm but didnt say whether bottle or breast fed the rest of the time. Should I introduce a dreamfeed? How awake do they need to be? Is breast ok at this time as I like dad doing the post bath feed as I like my time pottering in the kitchen making tea. All advice much appreciated.

i'm certainly no expert....
my baby is about the same age and seems to follow a similar pattern to yours. not sure exactly what dreamfeed means but if it means half asleep - it works. Regardless of whether she is asleep or not, i get Anna up between 11-12 which is when i'm going to bed. try not to wake her properly but if your using a bottle you may find that she justs takes it half asleep cos they're actually a bit peckish. put straight back down after a gentle wind and keep fingers crossed. Anna has then been sleeping until 6-7am. of course it will probably all go horribly wrong tonight but it has been great getting a good stretch thru the night for the past couple of weeks - good luck.

I BF for 11mths so would say BF.
A friend used to put a little baby rice in the night milk to make it thicker, then the bubs slept better and longer.
Have no idea what DreamFeed is sorry

Hi. My DS is 5 months,Ive done a dreamfeed since about 10 weeks,He feeds at 7 then bath and bed, my partner or me then gets him out of the cot about 10.30 still preety much asleep feed him and he goes straight back down til 7.We bottle feed now but I started the dreamfeed when I was bf, find it a lot easier with a bottle though because he doesnt need to latch on so doesnt wake up as much.

my ds is 7 weeks old, and i have just introduced a dream feed at around 11 before i go to bed, however im not sure if it is unsettling him, as he doesnt seem to sleep any longer, normally wakes again around 2,however every baby is different so it may work for you, however please dont add anything to her bottle, that is stupid advice it could make your baby ill. enjoy your baby x

Dream feeds are great....

Don't wake them up, they just suck it in in their sleep.

When I started with dd she was about 3 months old, any younger and it just unsettles them IMO.

You simply get them out of cot, insert boob/bottle. Let them suck, wind gently and then put back down. Do it in a dark room, they don't even open their eyes. It is incredible to watch

Give it time to work though I don't think it works straight away. The idea is, they go from then to about 6.00am
