4 months - should I still feel full?

DD (coming up on 4months) has been waking more frequently for feeds at night over the last couple of weeks. My boobs never feel full any more. Is this because she is feeding more often? Or is she feeding more frequently because I am never full? I thought supply would catch up and I would gradually start to get that full feeling again. Or is it that boobs get more efficient at the whole process and don't need to get so full? DD is happy and contented during the day feeding on average every 3 hrs, it would just be nice if she didn't then continue to feed just as frequently at night.

TIA.

It's because your body's getting used to providing milk - don't worry!

Mine stopped feeling full after abot 3 mths but don't worry there's plenty there and the night feeding does decrease with time.

That's reassuring. Thanks for your replies.

Sorry - another quick question. It has meant that I struggle to express as much as I used to be able to in the morning. Is this likely to continue to be the case?

It is prob partly because the breast pump gets a better seal on a very full boob. I was ok at expressing in the first couple of months but then useless once they softened.

Mind you I did not persevere with the expressing - I decided it was too much effort.

Sounds like your dd is having the 4month growthspurt. The frequent feeds at the mo will boost your supply though, so may be able to express more once the spurt has passed and things settle down again (by 19wks with my ds)
