DS is 14 months and won't drink cow's milk or formula. I had hoped to phase out breastfeeding from 9 months or so but it hasn't happened.
He was always a bottle refuser but now he can drink out of a cup he won't have milk from that either. He'll drink water from one but not milk. I've tried every cup on earth, straws, you name it. He started nursery at 12 months so the mid-morning and mid-afternoon bf stopped. I hoped that cutting out the daytime bf and seeing the other babies using cups, would persuade him to drink milk but no.
So now I bf at bedtime, which is so much a part of our routine I'm dreading dropping it but I really need to give up because work means DP will have to do bedtime sometimes. I also bf him when he wakes once in the night, usually at 4 or 5am to get him back to sleep. But it will mean he's getting no milk at all apart from on his cereal in the morning (he has it on Weetabix so doesn't object to the taste of it). He doesn't drink very much water so he's not getting enough fluids. His poos are rock hard already (sorry if TMI).
So do I have to keep up the nighttime feeds to keep him healthy? Will no milk at all and only a few sips of water be bad for his health?
