Hiya mumsnetters

I'm going to Damascus, Syria in March with DS and he will still be on formula when we go - he currently has Aptamil and I've e-mailed them to ask if they do it in Syria under a different name but no luck! I'm planning on taking the formula with me but just in case the luggage gets lost/cartons get damaged (can't you tell I just plan for the worst!! ) can anyone recommend a good formula for me to use?

Cheers,

Niks

mo idea, but I never took cartons with formula, just the powder in a thingy from mothercare to keep 3 measures ready to mix.

Now, due to allergies, I take plenty of cartons (first I don't know if I going to find something that he can have/will eat, and second, even if I know of a brand, I don't want to waste any time of the holiday looking for it). I try to put a bit of food in all luggage pieces, and 2 days suply in my handbag as we have a special talent to loose the luggage.

HTH

hi nikki, you can get wyeth formula in syria i believe (same as what is available here in bahrain where i live) - it's called S-26 (under 6 months) and PROMIL (over 6 months) - its the same as SMA in the UK.

HTH. enjoy your trip!

another thought - they might also have the Nestle NAN range of formula - I gave that to DS1 when we lived in Belgium with no problems.

Thanks for all that - they did have Promil there and the Nan range

Luckily, I didn't need it as took enough - just! But good to know what to look for!
