Msg on behalf of a mate ....

Her ds (3 mths, but 5 weeks prem) is a very difficult feeder - bottle fed and a reluctant eater - usually takes no more than 60ml/feed - often less, and has to be encouraged into feeding, even first thing in am when he hasn't fed since 10.30ish. She's worried, but is struggling to get anyone to take her seriously

Over the last few days his poo has been green with white bits in - sure this is meant to mean something??

Maybe some kind of intolerance, but that's just off the top of my head.

HI

My dd has green poo most of the time! Sometimes can be mustard colour. Sometimes i notice a vinegary smell!

Spoke to GP about it and was told it could be an indication that she isn't having enough milk!

My dd was 3 weeks early and she also he is a difficult feeder!

Am on another post talking about it at the mo with another member!

As long as there is no blood in the stools then it's ok!

How often does he go? My dd goes every 3-4 days and GP said if she has been doing that since birth then thatg is fine too!

I have got huge problems getting anyone to listen to me too - have been told unless baby isn't losing weight and still producing wet and dirty nappies then no one is not going to do anything. Put my foot down yesterday and am seeing a pesdatrician next monday.

Don't let them bully you and make you feel like you over reacting. If you have concerns make sure you get answers!

Hope this has helped.

bumping this becuase I didn't notice the last post & hoping GIna1981 may notice it ... Gina, my mates ds is currently taking about 60ml per feed . She managed to get him into hospital to be observed overnight, but they've sent her away with some reflux drugs ... she doesn't think it's reflux, and is hoping for a paed appt soon. Will be very interestede to see how you're getting on...

Hi funnypeculiar have a read what's been said on this post

www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1364&threadid=265259&stamp=070206095938

I joined this post when i was at my wits end with my dd and her feeding!

Not too sure what you have tried with the feeding but i have put everything i have tried and tested and hope that something might help!

It's such a worry when you can't get much down them i know the feeling i've been giving so much conflicting advice it's driven b=me round the bend!

I think i got a bit tongue tied in my last post i was menat to type that no one will do anything until my dd stops producing wet and dirty nappies and starts to lose weight!

It's bad enough she goes 3-4 days without opening her bowels!

Keep me posted on whats going on and will help in anyway i can.

My dd is 5 months next week and it's been a struggle belive you me but i think i'm getting there with trying some many different things!

So if there is anything you want to ask i may be able to help.

Keep smiling

Hi funnypeculiar

How are things going?

I'm having a real hard time a the mo with my dd she really isn't feeding too well. Have to wait till monday and hopefully i'll get some answers.

Hi Gina -sorry, hadn't checked this thread- thank you so much for replying!
My mate's ds is on a special high energy formula as he has started looseing weight (he's still taking no more than 2-3oz at most feeds) but she's got appts to see a number of specialists.

It's actually her that you were talking to on the other thread (I told her to try and check out mn as there was ALWAYS someone with an answer on here!!) I'll check that she's seen your latest post - and thanks again so much for following it up - I know she reallt appreciated not being 'on her won' as she is really having to fight to get health professionals to listen to her concerns...
