Feeding very early milk later on

Hi,

I have a 5 month old DS - when I first started feeding I had a big oversupply so I have loads of frozen milk from his early days which is about to expire.

The milk looks very yellow (I guess richer/more colostrum than my milk now?)

Is there any issue with feeding this to DS in a bottle now? Should I 'dilute' it with fresh milk?

It will be absolutely fine.

It might possibly be more colostrum-rich than your current milk, but this will not be in any way harmful.

You could dilute if you wanted to, and that would be fine, too, but you don't need to.

Tiktok's words on breastfeeding are basically gospel.

Thanks both!

Just a thought, but if you have more than you can use, you could look into donating it to a milk bank at a hospital. I don't know if the length of time it's been frozen is an issue, but I know they like to give newborns in NICU colostrum-rich milk if they can, and I'd imagine it doesn't get donated so often.

Oh that's a good idea. I'm not in the UK so don't know if such things exist here but will look into it!

It'll be good for him.

Or you could sell it to body builders for £££££s Grin
