Advice needed on using EBM please

Hello,

When reheating EBM I have always assumed I am aiming for body temp, but I have just been given a bottle heater thing whose instructions imply you would only ever aim for 20 degrees (room temp).

Which is correct?

Also what is the best way of defrosting frozen EBM in advance- standing in fridge or under running hot tap water? The first one seems easier and less prone to mishap...

Thanks

The instructions on Lansinoh freezer bags say defrost in fridge slowly over 24 hours or at room temperature. Doesn't recommend doing it in boiling water quickly but you could do it slowly in lukewarm apparently! Defrosted milk if unopened can then be kept in the fridge for 24 hours. Once you open the bag or bottle it can be kept for 12 hours in the fridge.

What I want to know is, can you mix different batches of defrosted milk in one bottle for a feed? I've got going slowly and have various bags with tiny amounts in

I've never worried about the actual temp of warmed breast milk just waited until it felt warm on my arm.

Yes, my midwife told me you can do that and I have done it with no probs.

Hello, I got told to defrost in fridge is ideal but can defrost under warm water if using straight away - make sense so you don't 'heat' it twice.

Temp wise I stick mine in hot water till it doesn't feel cold on my arm. DD doesn't complain!
