How do you make/store formula

I'm starting to give ds (5. months) formula but unsure the best way to make/store it? The tub says to add to hot water and use in 30 minutes but that's not always practical if we are out/middle of the night.

Is there a way to do a few bottles at once safely?

We have a Perfect Prep machine. I like it. They claim the 'hot shot' kills any nasties in the powder and the machine tops up with water that has been filtered to remove nasties in the cool water. We haven't had any problems. We used to use the ready made formula for out and about but our son is on lactose free now so we make up bottles out and about with water from th machine that has cooled. It's not ideal but we haven't had problems (fingers crossed).

It's not the water that has nasties it's formula that hasn't been sterilised and is st risk of contamination, it should be made up with 70 temp at all times. WHO guidelines state if you pre make then the best way is to make flash cool at back of fridge. Using pre boiled cooled water doesn't eliminate bacteria. Yes lots of people do it and risks are small but there is always one

mummyto If I was at my mums and didn't have my perfect prep machine, I would fill a bottle completely with boiling water than leave that to cool. Using another bottle, I would had the required amount of boiling water and powder, then shake it up. Then add the required amount of cooled water from the full bottle, using the measurements on that bottle to make sure I was using the right amount. That way, I would have enough cooled water to make 2 feeds at once, use one, and store one at the back of the fridge once it had been completely cooled under a cold tap. I guess everyone has their own way of doing it. It's just so annoying that there's so much conflicting advice out there, that it's understandable people get confused about it all! But I suppose it all comes down to making sure the powder comes into contact with boiling water!

Yeah that's fine because it's measured.

Just need to be careful if not measuring or using a flask for example!

It changes all the time doesn't it!!

I read the other day that prep machines aren't reccomended! Though I have one and have used from birth and my baby has been fine! X
