preparing formula

Hi I've read up load on preparing formula and the more I read the more worried I get but I just don't think the guidelines are very achievable and wanted to see what most people do? At night my husband makes up a formula at 2am usher for when I feed our daughter at around 6 and if we go out fit the day we will make up a bottle but not necessarily use it for a few hours? Is this really bad as all the guidelines say you must make as you use but then you have a hungry baby waiting for formula to cool????? I get the whole use within 1 hour thing but the other stuff seems a bit excessive?

I wouldn't be concerned about the cold water, personally - it's more whether the hot shot is sufficient to get the powder+water to 70°.

When I switched from BF to FF, I soon came to realise what worked best for me was to put 5 scoops in bottle, separately measure out 2oz hot water (from kettle or flask)and pour in on top of formula and stir, then add 3oz cold boiled water (kept in a flask) and shake. Much quicker than any other method I tried.

Premade or perfect prep in this house! Honestly could not get my head around formula without the perfect prep. I was so reluctant because of all the guidelines but when we had to switch to formula the perfect prep made it all a lot simpler!

Another query about anti reflux milk that had to be made with cooler water? How do you get rid of bugs that way?

Don't know! We make ours at 40 degrees- ring them and ask!
