Morning,
I'm lb was ebf till 6mths and now at 10 1/2 mths has between 2 to 4 feeds a day. He has been a bit poorly for the last 48hrs but was still feeding from me quite happily.

However, he woke last night with a temperature and a snuffly nose. He started to feed but then he bit me, which he hasn't done before. It was a proper bite and I instinctively pulled him off me...ouch!

He then cried and cried and refused to latch back on. He finally settled with calpol but this morning he still won't bf. In fact, he seems pretty annoyed as soon as he sees my boob! He's a little better in himself and has eaten all his breakfast but don't know what to make of the refusal to bf? He's drinking water readily from his cup.

Did i really shock him by pulling him off suddenly? Or is the blocked nose stopping him feeding? Surely he can't have decided he doesn't want it anymore?

My ds just stopped at ten months it was a bit of a shock but he was obviously ready.

DD1 wasn't interested anymore at 9 months, though it was more of a gradual process rather than overnight refusal. It might just be the blocked nose that's making it difficult for him to feed at the moment.

Found like a nursing strike to me. DS did the same biting then refusing around the same age. It passed after a few days and he resumed normal feeding.

Snuffly nose? Can't breathe and suck at the same time?

He's been snuffly before and really preserved! Nothings stopped him before to be honest! This time just seems different, like he is totally offended when I try and feed him, even just getting him in position upsets him. Hopefully, it is just a phase or short nursing strike and he'll be back to normal soon
