Any tips on getting baby to take a bottle from me again?

DS is almost nine months. He is mostly breastfed, but we've given him one bottle at night since he was a few weeks old. Mostly it was DP that gave it but occasionally I would, and it would be fine. However, over the last couple of weeks he refuses to take more than about 50ml from me. It's not that he isn't hungry, (although he isn't necessarily very hungry) but it seems to be me that's the problem. It's not always possible for DP to do the feed so any tips to make it work for me? I've tried all sorts of different positions (including sitting him up in the chair by himself) and none seem to work. It was always fine before, I don't know what's changed.

Is he big enough to be given a bottle with handles yet? We had a tommee tippee handle which kind of slotted over the normal bottle iyswim and dc1 especially enjoyed the novelty of being able to hold it himself and would often drink far more that way than if we held him. Could you sit him in his high chair and try that?

There are some non spill baby cups that they suck - comes through a type of sponge... They work well - again they can hold it themselves

He can sort of hold a cup, he's a bit wonky with it though. Worth a try though, thanks guineapig and sally.

I would try him with an open doidy cup now. Mine could use with help from 4 months for an ounce or two, but were pretty good at using by 9months.
You can start by giving him water in it with meals in the day so he gets used to drinking from open cup ( with your help), and then you can add formula in it in the evening when needed. Just put less in and top up if they want more rather than fill

Agree with every one else - he doesn't need a bottle at 9 months - just move to a cup and stop bottles altogeher.
