Suggestions for drying up milk now DS is weaned

DS is nearly 16mo and I dropped his last feed tonite. He couldn't have cared less .

I am going to Chicago for a long weekend to visit my Best Friend and don't want to be bothered by lumpy/painful boobs. I remember a MW telling me that Sage tea dries up milk, and maybe Peppermint tea too. Any other suggestions? I don't want to be bothered with hand expressing which I am crap at. TIA

Any decogestant might work, which is why you shouldn't really take them while feeding. Grab a few Lemsips?

Ds gave up at 17 mths and I only felt "heavy" for a couple of days - certainly no lumps or pain - but I was still producing milk for 3/4 mths afterwards which was a bit odd when I noticed it in the shower.

Funny feeling when it all ends isn't it? Ds was nosey for a few days afterwards but was easily distracted when he realised he was getting a cup of milk and a rich tea biscuit

All the best

I think it depends on how much he is getting each day. If you are just giving him milk last thing at night, your body will produce less than if you were feeding him 3 times a day. If it's once, you may be sore but I think you can get away with it. If it's three, I would imagine you will have to express some.

me too unless I squeezed them (which I didn;t) then I had no engorgement at all, dd was only on oen feed at the time anyways at 16mths
She too could not have cared less.
Now at 18 mths she is always grabbing my boobs though... Bizarre creatures babies!

He was down to one feed. I dropped two others at 14months. I started giving him a cup of milk as I got him ready for bed for the last couple of weeks. Fingers crossed that maybe I won't suffer at all (except for his cold-heartedness of course). I will have another cup of Sage tea just in case.

sage is good, can get it in tincture or tablets which might work better/quicker than tea.
