my son is 16 months old. he is now about 21 pounds, only 5lb 12 when born. is has 4 bottles a day at about 180ml. one straight away in morning about 8am, one about 11am, another at 3pm - 4pm and last just before bed at 7-8pm. he typically has weetabix for breakfast. sandwiches for lunch with a yogurt and a 7month or 12month jar with fruit puree for tea.

is he having enough solids?
does he have too many bottles?
should I give him his bottle or breakfast first thing in a morning?

thanks

I dont think hes getting enough solids - try a snack at 10 ish & 3ish of fruit. Also, a more age appropriate jar for dinner, or some of whatever your having. Give breakfast with a cup of his usual milk, and not a bottle before.

he was sick when I gave him full fat milk a few days ago

I agree with Quootiepie and would replace the 11am and 3pm bottle with some health snack. As he is having milk with his breakfast cereal then maybe u could offer some fruit juice with his breakie. I think if you reduce his milk then u may find his solids increase. Why don't you try giving him some pasta or the same as you are having at teatime. Does he enjoy his solid food?

The reason I asked was because my DD was real nightmare to feed and I often over compensated by given her extra milk so it ended up being a vicious circle. The more milk she had the less solid she would eat. She still isn't a great eater but much much better (she is 2 years old). Why don't you cook up some really simple teatime dinners for him and freeze them. I find pasta sauces stuffed full of veg and soups are great and not too much hassle to cook up in advance. Feeding a kid can be really hard work.

will try.
