7 week old feeding and sleeping help needed!

Dd is 7 weeks and we seem to have chaos with feeding and sleeping. We kept a record and in 24 hours she had 1,180ml over more than 20 feeds, being bottle fed on Aptamil 1. The most she will take in one go is 70ml, so other feeds vary from this amount to a few sips. During that time she didn't sleep for more than an hour at a time during the day (3 naps) but we did get two three hour and one two hour sleep during the night. She is gaining weight (on the 75th) and plenty of wet nappies plus one almighty poo explosion a day.

It just feels that she's not getting enough sleep and is over-feeding. She definitely feeds to fall asleep, we have tried a dummy but with limited success so far (will tolerate for a bit but not fall asleep with it). She will have a 3.5 hour nap under the right conditions (on my chest) but doesn't like her moses basket or car seat, plus we have a 3 year old Ds so not feasible to stay in to have long naps every day (he is at nursery 3 days per week)

So, I'm keen to understand whether this is normal... or just a phase.....or something we need to tackle? And if so, how?!

Sounds perfectly normal for a 7 week old to me Smile

If you want her to nap longer in the day, have you tried swaddling, white noise, a sling or a walk?

Is she getting outside at least once a day?

For the most part we do go out at least once a day but normally I will have her in the sling rather than pushchair as she much prefers to be upright (and easier for activity with DS). Am failing on going for walks! So I would have thought the amount of fresh air is a bit lacking.

Was asking about getting outside as exposure to daylight has been proven to help with sleep, so it's worth persevering.

It might be worth trying some dentinox in the bottles. It helped my DN. It may be normal but it might just be worth trying a different milk.
