If you weaned after 3, did they start eating more?

Or is DS's diet just normal toddler pickiness? He seems to be gradually reducing what he'll actually eat, and wondering if trying to cut back on feeds will encourage him to eat more.

I weaned at 2, but started to extend times between feeds from around 18 months (she would have fed all day every day otherwise!) and my daughter did start to eat more around the same time I extended the gap between feeding her. Also after cutting out night feeds at around 11 months I found a similar thing happened in that she would eat more during the day.

Sounds worth doing then. I'm a bit concerned that if he keeps topping up with milk, and eating very little, that he'll gradually eat less and less variety and that will be a really difficult habit to break.

Whilst we weaned a long time ago, DS is 3.4 and always had milk with all of his meals. He would drink two big beakers & not eat much. It was only when a friend came over with a similar aged DC and let he daughter have a cup of milk and said "no more now as otherwise you'll be too full to eat" that a light bulb went on in my head. Since then, DS gets half a cup of milk, then water. Whilst he's still picky, he does usually eat a bit more
