Weaning to formula

DD is 21 wks and has been exclusively breast fed. Going back to teaching job in just over a week, for a week before xmas hols. Was going to persevere with dd taking expressed milk from cup. DH is looking after her for that week. However, disaster has struck. Freezer broke and have lost all frozen milk supplies . Thought time might be right to try a formula milk in the day. Is the lunch time feed perhaps the best one to wean first? Have bought aptamil 2 in a carton. How have people found this formula? Have people found feeding it in a bottle or cup more successful? DD has only ever taken about 2oz from a bottle.

Thanks in advance!

Oh Dennya - & for your freezer milk. Are you still expressing now and how is it? (enough to express day before for dd's feeds the day after?)
In my case, I couldn't quite express enough for all feeds when I went back to work so dd has about 6 bottles of formula a week (now 8m old) We weaned by giving half ebm/half formula for the first few bottles, dh gave them so she couldn't smell my milk and we used tommee tippee teats and Hipp Organic formula.
Am not sure on 'best' way of weaning onto formula but hopefully this will bump and someone with more knowledge will see.
Good luck with keeping up the bf mornings and after work/nights. I am still doing this and my supply has adapted ok

Thanks for that. Can express about 4oz max in one go, so not sure that will be enough for the next day. Will start repleneshing stocks of expressed milk and storing them in neighbours freezer as of today. Tried dd with formula today. Not impressed, but half ebm and formula is a good idea, so may give that a go. Thanks again.
