DD has allways beean great feeder until teh last few days. basically she hardly feeds at all now at either 7 or 10 am. she is very distracted & screams like I'm trying to poison her. unfortunatley this seesm to mean she is waking all hours of teh night to fillup. last night was (after bed at 6.30) 8, 11, 1 & 3.
I am knackerd & finding it hadt o remain positive about feding especailly as on my own with a 3yr old to contend with as well.
she is perfectly happy in herself. she has had 2 teasponns of bbay rice at lunchtime over the last few days so wondering whether toup teh amount or jjst move over to formula so she acn feed & be nosey at teh same time!

any ideas?
thanks for reading

It shouldn't last long.
The frequent feeding will increase supply which may be why she is doing it.

I wouldn't bother with baby rice yet.Milk is far more calorie dense.

Also bottles will be a bit of a faff (as well as the fact that formula is an inferior product).

If you hang in for a month or so,it will be time to start introducing real food as opposed to wallpaper paste!

My lo is just the same and the same age! - I found the info on kellymom.com really helpful and reassuring. They described 'the distractable baby' and it summed up my lo to a tee! It says that at around this age they discover the wider world and life is too exciting to bf. Have you tried bf in a darkened quiet room or Bf when your lo is sleepy /just woken up. I think it is just one of those phases and if you can stick it out then hopefully it will pass.

It could possibly be that her digestive system isn't ready to cope with solids yet, and she is actually screaming because of that rather than anything to do with the milk. Suggest stopping the solids for a few days and see if it improves.

Problem sounds related to baby rice to me too. Cut it out and see what happens.
