Weaning off Breastfeeding

Hi

I am looking for some guidance on how to stop breastfeeding. My daughter is 8 months and I am due back at work in 3 months time and want to slowly wean her off breastfeeding as I don't want to carry on once I am back at work or have lots of changes when she starts nursery.

Just have loads of questions.

She is currently on a fairly consistent routine of 630/7am milk, 830 breakfast, 1030/11 milk, 1130/12 lunch, 230/3 milk, 430 tea, 630/7 expressed milk from a bottle.

She is happy with a bottle and having just been on holiday has had a few ready made formula over the last week in the evening, so am happy she will transition without many issues, fingers crossed.

Would it be best to change one of her milk feeds to formula once a week to begin with? I have oversupply issues so am terrified of getting engorgement issues so want to transition really slowly as my boobs take weeks to adjust (it took 6 weeks to adjust to me dropping her 11pm dream feed)

How many milk feeds should she be on a day - she is currently on 4 but the box of formula says it should be 3 - her bedtime one is about 200-250mls - this will stay as breastmilk for a while as we have a freezer full to use up!

Is she ok on stage 1 milk or should it be stage 2 for the added vitamins - she doesn't eat any fortified foods as she is generally BLW as take very little from a spoon so porridge etc are erratically eaten. She eats pretty well - lots of fruit, veg, fish, etc just not from a spoon unless its yogurt!

I have enjoyed breastfeeding and am happy with my decision to stop but have found it really emotional in the last few days now the time had come and keep finding excuses to not break the habit.

Sorry its so long - I just seem to have lots of questions!
