Introducing 1 - 3 formula feeds a day in an EBF baby

My baby is 6 1/2 months old and EBF. I absolutely love BF'ing and want to continue for morning and bedtime feed for as long as my baby wants to (5 years old, I don't care!!). However, once my baby has mastered her sippy cup (she's 75% there!) I want to start introducing a formula feed in the day. This is in preparation for me returning to work :( .

I'm completely clueless about formula. Is there a 'recommended' way of introducing it? Should I use Follow On Milk?

I've tried expressing with my top of the range electric avent pump but get hardly anything out. 3oz in 30 mins.... It's soul destroying!!!! So I'm thinking formula.

Any tips, advice or links to websites gratefully accepted!

Don't use follow on milk. Use the standard "from newborn" stuff. Probably worth mixing with expressed milk to start with. Follow on milk is for 1+, by which time normal full fat cows milk is fine.

Follow on milk is pretty much the same as from birth formula (and is not toddler milk, if you're unsure the box states what age it's for).

I have found it easy to offer ready made formula when my dd is being looked after by someone else. She prefers it to powder though it costs more.
Don't expect a bf baby to drink the relatively huge recommended servings as bf is usually taken in smaller quantities. So they might drink 4 oz then another 4 oz an hour or two later ... not one 7 or 8 oz sitting. Smile
