can you mix breast and formula to make one larger bottle?

Have to say I don't see why not, but I would be worried that if they left some, it would be a waste of some of the lovingly expressed breastmilk. Would prefer to start with the breastmilk then top up with the formula.

don't think there would be a problem essentially, but you surely wouldn't want to risk wasting the ebm?

I did that all the time with ds1 if I needed to leave him with anyone for a while as I could only ever express a tiny amount. I thought it better to mix it so that he never got pure formula, in my mind I felt the ebm would make it better for his tummy! I would leave the ebm in the fridge for dp or my mum to mix up if baby got hungry while I was out. If you are worried about some being left then just mix a bit and then mix some more if he is still hungry?

I did mixed feeding too with good success. My ebm was such a crap amount that it needed topping up if was to have any time away. I felt slightly less guilty with the mixed feed!
