BF "mechanics" question

I'm not really sure I should be posting here as I'm not even bf get but there's something I've got myself very worried about. I'm 28+5 weeks pregnant and I've already got milk. Not like "milk has come in" but there's definitely milk there. Thing is, because of my son being little (6lb5) when he was born I've had to have an extra growth scan and it turns out my dd is a little bit small. The consultant thinks that there might have been some sort of issue with my placenta during the end of my last pregnancy (ds is absolutely fine). I've heard that it's the delivery of the placenta that causes your milk to come in, seen I've got some milk and now I'm worried that there's something wrong with the placenta this time.
This might be me putting two and two together and making five and be a really stupid question but does anyone know if having milk so early in a pregnancy is a sign/symptom of a problem with the placenta?

I'm no expert but can only offer the anecdotal evidence that I also "had milk" at about the same stage when I was pg with DS2. I think your body remembers what to do a bit better and also that you recognise the symptoms (where as last time you might not had realised).

Also, my DS1 was born in a bit of a hurry (natural birth but quick) which the midwife put down to his placenta "being a mess" - whatever that means. DS2 was fine!

Speak to your midwife if you're at all concerned. I'm sure if there was a worrying problem the MW would have referred you to a consultant again. They don't take knowingly risks when it comes to babies.

I think having milk early is totally normal. (As is not having milk, IYSWIM).

Do ask your midwife for reassurance, but the presence of milk at this stage isn't a worry.

At that stage, I was spraying DH with milk during sex Shock
