what should an exclusively bf poo be like?

What should a ebf babies poo be like? Should it stay like the newborn yellow "seedy" poo? Or is it normal for it to change after the first few weeks? Is an orangy brown, very liquid poo within in the relms of normal?

Sorry I don't have the reply but my 6 week olds has been really runny and the sizes are pretty big in last couple of days, I'm a bit worried as someone told me it should be the texture of toothpaste mines definitely more on the liquid side and the seeds have gone too.

Ours have been yellow and seedy for 6 months apart from the occasional illness induced green ones. I don't know what is and isn't okay though. Toothpaste texture would be for formula fed or after weaning though I think.

6 months here still runny although expect that to change with weaning. Hasn't been seedy since the early days.

Dd often had orangey brown poo when ebf. Always very very runny.

We're at 15 weeks and Dd's are still orangey, very runny with a few wee blobs of thicker bits. Varying in quantity. Very occasionally get seedy bits, and can sometimes go as dark as a khaki green. HV said khaki was still fine and she's been totally healthy.

Ds2 is 6 months and only starting weaning this week. His poos aren't seedy (they sometimes are but not frequently). They are runny and are a yellow colour. They are almost identical to ds1 at the same age. ds2 went for allergy testing yesterday and the consultant asked what his poos were like. When I described them she implied they were totally normal for a bf baby.

DD is 7 weeks - hers changes between yellow Korma-esque colours with 'seeds' to a slightly darker orangey colour. Almost always runny though, only once or twice has it been mucus-y

Very very runny was completely normal for us and a powerful orange most days.... although we've been weaning for just 2 weeks and I took huge delight and let out a little squeak of excitement yesterday when the morning nappy change revealed a very small but perfectly formed turd!!! She's self feeding so I have no idea how much she is actually eating until now. I sounded so excited my toddler came running over and demanded to have a look!!

Kent1982 · 25/04/2015 09:22

A little turd , That made me laugh, sad thing is I would probably have taken a photo and put it in his baby book.

Runny, yellow to orange to khaki, sometimes seedy but not often.

squizita · 25/04/2015 10:16

We've been weaning a month. Still runny with turd like poo bombs. Worst of both!!Grin

Thanks guys. So it is possible for it to be within relms of normal to have all very orangey brown, very, very liquid poos.
