Either he will or I will! My 9 week old baby has been feeding all the time today and he's chewing my boobs, bucking back and forward and hitting them. Every time I take him off he screams and screams. he falls asleep for about half an hour and then wakes up crying. Hes nearly bent backwards when hes feeding, kicking, etc. He's on reflux medication already. I am at the end of my tether- feel like I've run out! Please help- wtf is going on with him????

We used to do that bicycle legs thing too which is meant to help wind.

You lie the baby down on their back and rotate their legs like they are riding a bike. It did help.

Growth spurts/wind/cluster feeding can ALL be a right pain. It really does get so much easier though.

Another thing I've just thought of, occasionally now she's older dd gets like that where she fights against me. Usually it's when she's teething. The thing that I've found works best is to lie down in bed and breastfeed her lying down next to me. Maybe give that a go? It seems to settle her a lot more and I wish I'd known to try that when she was smaller.

My dd is 9 weeks too. For the past few days she has cried after every feed. Between 7ish and 10 she has screamed! Really screamed. Showing hunger signs... Couple of sucks, arched back, punching boobs and extreme crying... This cycle repeated for hours. I got upset thinking it was me and my supply.

Lots of professionals seem to say tongue tie doesn't affect feeding, but if he's feeding for a long time it may be making it harder for him to feed so more inefficient and frustrating; also tt babies get more wind so if that's a problem you might want to push for a referral to get it snipped.
It's quick and simple to sort and baby will probably be more comfortable feeding once it's done so it really is worth considering, even if it's not causing 'major' problems

Hello OP

We've moved this to feeding for you
Hope party goes well and you can get some relief from the constant feeding. Been there, done that, applied the nipple cream so can sympathise.

Congrats on all these lovely newborns. [snuffle] [coo]

My baby can be like this and he's just had tongue tie snipped.
luckily they seem more amenable to treating it in my area.

Hi everyone- my dh let me sleep in between feeds this morning so feeling a bit more human! Thank you very much for your good wishes and advice. I'd love to find out what makes him do this sometimes- he headbutts and hits me, and squirms mostly in the evenings. I'm so happy that I'm able to ebf this time round- my dd I had to combi feed which I hated. I think it's something to do with wind but he's on ranitadine and infacol at the moment. Oh well - let me know how the osteopath goes and good lick with the unicorn poo sctratch!Grin
