Nursing clothes

Has anyone discovered anywhere that does nice nursing tops / dresses? Most things I can find are very loose / big / frumpy style things suitable for pregnancy and nursing which isn't what I want really as not very flattering at all! Anyone found anything a bit nicer?? I can't wear the small strap nursing bras as have huge boobs so wide strapped bra which just looks hideous under them!

I just wear a regular pre pregnancy top with a vest top underneath. Then lift up the top and pull the vest down. It's cheaper than special nursing tops and means I basically wear anything I fancy, other than dresses!

I've bought a few things from Yummy Mummy Maternity which have been nice and from the Seraphine sale.

Thank you, the yummy mummy stuff was exactly what I was after!

Boob clothes do great tops, my favourite.
Frugi.
Jojo maman bebe do some non pregnancy clothes.
Gap sell nursing clothes online, but I returned the Henley tops as they were normal tops, nothing nursing about them! The ones with a crossover design have breastfeeding openings.

I mostly did the double vest thing, but obviously it doesn't work for dresses. I got a lovely bf dress from Vertbaudet last summer, though.

Happy to help Snowydrops Smile

Also, if anything from Gap takes your fancy they are offering 30% off this weekend - code HOPTOGAP

I have big boobs and big bras and couldn't work out how to manouvre a nipple out of those tiny slits in bf clothes.

I wore a vest under a top. H&M do good vests.

When you feel the need for wires, you can convert normal bras to feeding bras using kits from ebay. Really easy. Just make sure the bra fits and wires don't sit of breast tissue Smile

I've been doing the one up one down with two tops, but now it's getting warmer I'm getting quite hot and sweaty with two layers on. I'm considering doing some DIY and chopping up a cheap top and sewing the front of it under another top to get a second layer to pull up and avoid getting quite so warm. It bugs me too that most / all nursing clothes are also maternity ones. Thanks for the links!

I was thinking about doing something similar with thin strap vest tops - I'm going to try cutting the strap and adding a popper...will report back Grin

EBay have some sellers (based in Poland but still only tool 5 days) with interesting top styles eg pleated front tunics where one pleat conceals a vertical tit zip. Smile

squizita · 05/04/2015 18:23

Oh also I wear a "tube top" just under my bra level with a loose top over as well as the vest +top method usually.

gallicgirl · 06/04/2015 17:53

I've been having the same dilemma and have opted for the vest and button-up shirt option.

JojoMamanBebe had a few tops and dresses as did Vertbaudet.

FreeButtonBee · 06/04/2015 18:11

For top up top down method, uniqlo do a summer version of their heattech tops, which are designed to keep you cool. Millions of colours and amazingly stretchy. They were my top tip for feeding.

poocatcherchampion · 06/04/2015 18:27

H&m were my fav for bf friendly tops
