Will it get better?? It's agony when she latches and then not very comfortable throughout, not helped by her horrible twiddling habit! Arghhh!

Also suffering all day sickness and terrible SPD so having to say 'no' about a lot of other things - really want to keep bfing going if at all possible but want to know what to expect - is this just a first tri thing or could I be in pain for the whole pregnancy??

It was never 'comfortable' feeding DS1 while pregnant but the painful bit did subside by the end of my first trimester. I was only feeding once a day anyway which made it bearable.
Congratulations on your pregnancy btw! Flowers

I have found that the pain got better towards the end of the first trimester so hopefully it will for you as well!

I had pain most of the way through first trimester, and no milk at all in the second trimester. The third was pure colostrum. DD wasn't put off and carried on regardless. I reduced to two feeds (nap and before bed) and read gripping things on Kindle to keep my mind off the pain. It wasn't terrible, mind. It never occurred to me to stop, as I wanted her to self-wean and I was looking forward to tandem-feeding. She also only napped on the boob and I needed a sit-down at lunchtime.

Stop the twiddling if you can though - maybe a special necklace she can play with during the feeds? Or just be strict and take her hand off every time she tries.

Fwiw, I was so glad I kept going. Tandem-feeding was amazing, watching them watch each other while holding hands, DD stroking little DS's face, etc. No jealousy between the two of them. I felt all earth-mothery, which went a long way to healing the emotional scars of two emergency c-sections.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
