Perfect Prep advice

Hi, my wife and i are expecting our first baby in 9 weeks. We are just getting our heads around feeding plans. We have got a perfect prep machine for night time feeds. Does anyone know if a perfect prep bottle could be reheated? Thanks. Also any other tips or advice would be welcomed

I don't have one but my closest friend does and I've asked her. Apparently the milk can be reheated once if you absolutely have to although it's not advisable. You can apparently keep it in the fridge for up to 2 hours but again, this is only if absolutely needed.

I hope someone comes along that can clarify these for you more specifically.

Once made up the feed is ok out of the fridge for 2 hours but could be refridgerated for up to 24 hours.

And then fed cold?

Basically, minimum that the perfect prep makes in one go is 4oz, a newborn will not take all of that from one feed. Was wondering if could make the 4oz and split it in half to cover two feeds

why do you want to re-heat them can I ask?

I have a perfect prep I've never stored or 're-heated them because there is no need. It makes a fresh bottle in 2minutes it takes longer to reheat a bottle safely with boiling water in a jug.

ohhh x-post, we used ready made cartons you could keep in the fridge for for the first few weeks till he was taking rod feeds

*sorry posted to soon.

till he would take full feeds. is that something you could look at, it's easy too pour in 2oz whilst half asleep on your rth night feed.

the waste should be minimal really baby will finish the 4oz within a couple of weeks. its prob not worth the effort to reheat. The prep machine is brill!

You can make up with perfect prep, immediately cool, store at the back of fridge and reheat for the next feed. For reheating such a small amount I would put the bottle in warm water. Advice is not to microwave due to hot spots. I microwave then shake vigorously, but my twins now take larger bottles.

Hope that helps!

Agree that ready made might be handy in first few weeks though.
