help! plugged ducts-lots of little knots/lumps

I have mastitis on right breast caused I assume by plugged duct. I have oversupply. I've had plugged ducts before and usually it is hard lump or area of soreness. This my third bout of mastitis in 6 weeks (ebf my 6 week old) but first episode on the right. Rather than a hard lump it's lots of little lumps or knots in a section. I can see them when the breast is full but even when empty I can still feel them. Massage and heat isn't shifting them and I'm worried that they won't shift before I finish the antibiotics and I'll be at risk of another bout of mastitis.
Does this presentation sound like blocked ducts,? Any other tips on how to break it down?
Thank you

Sounds like blocked ducts check out kellymom website lots of tips how to clear. I always found massage and hand expressing in a very hot shower woked for me.

Thanks McBaby. I tried a hot bath as well as the hot shower, both with massage and I still can't shift it. I have noticed a bigger lump under the little knots. I think I'll call the GP tomorrow

Run the hottest bath you can tolerate. Submerge the breast and massage. Hand express under the water. Jump out and feed.

Try soya lecithin supplements to keep the blockages at bay. I was allergic so switched to sunflower lecithin but both made a huge difference.

I too have oversupply.

You'll see this tip on kellymom, but using a comb to sort of comb them out while in that very hot shower may help.

Lots and lots of fluids.

Dangle feeding - kneel on all fours over your baby and let gravity assist.

Good luck.

Pressing a very hot hot water bottle on the boob also helps a bit.
Avoid feeding in the cold at all If you are prone to this! Brill excuse to go to coffee shops and pubs.

Thanks everyone. I went to GP yesterday and he confirmed it was a blocked duct. Seems to have finally shifted today after working on it since Saturday! I will look into lethicin.

Thanks stargirl. My local health shop hadn't heard of its use for blocked ducts. Will go back and get some
