Been feeding dd2 for 9 weeks and every time she latch's on its toe curling painful then subsidies after 20 seconds. Its the same both sides. Also seems more stressed I am the more painful it is. She's feeding well and gaining weight so no worries there.

Can u get to a bf group? It was toecurling at first for me but once they adjust latch (only a little) it really made a difference they were much better than midwives xx

I will try and get to one this week.
Iv just spotted a white film on her tongue and worried its thrush. Guess a trip to the drs too Sad

I would echo that, go to a BF support group and get help. This really helped me. To be honest, even just talking to other people and feeling supported helps but if you can get practical help too all the better. I had excruciating pain like this up to ten weeks and it suddenly subsided and since then (baby is now 20 weeks), feeding has been an absolute joy. Sending you positive thoughts that it gets better for you very soon too. And well done for carrying on despite the pain.

Thank you both. I will definitely go to a group this week, it helps with the loneliness too.
Think I'm going to go to drs as I think we both may have thrush too. Painful pink nipple now too Sad I'm getting worried about feeding her later.
Why does it have to be so difficult when its ment to be natural?

I know, natural it may be but easy it is not (well, not at the start anyway). Good plan to see the doctor also given what you're saying about potential thrush. I had mastitis at one point and the doctor took it very seriously and saw me the same day. I think they do take these issues seriously as obviously it impacts on your baby's feeding. Even if there is nothing wrong, then you will have ruled it out but if there is thrush then you might need treatment. Good luck.

Yep def see doctor, it does get easier tho, as I said I really struggled for bout 8 weeks, to the point I would dread feeding it was so painful I'm now 9 1\2 months in xx
