Trouble taking bottle in one go - help!

Hi, I'm having trouble getting my 16 week old daughter to take her bottle in one go. I exclusively breast fed for 12 weeks and it has been a real struggle getting her onto the bottle. (I have found MAM bottles/teats the best). Some times she just takes a few ounces from the bottle then refuses to take any more until later. How long can I keep trying the same bottle? (I have been discarding after an hour and it is costing me a fortune in wasted formula). She was a 'snacker' on the breast which is why moved to bottles. Should I just wait until exactly 4 hrs between feeds so I know she is really hungry and will definitely take it in a one-er?

I would not try and go 4 hours then try and get her to drink the whole bottle.
I do not want to offend but this is the reason why some say childhood obescity is more likely to occur in FF babis as they are often encouraged to finish their bottle as opposed to BF babies who stop when they are full. By trying to encourage her to finish a bottle she does not really want you are not letting her learn when she is full herself.
I know it is a pain and when DD (now 3) was on bottles I only ever made up an oz more than she would normally have at one sitting and when she came off formula at a year she had never drank more than a 6oz bottle ever.
I wouls try to go with it especially as in the big scheme of things it is not long until she starts solids too, let her decide when she has had enough she knows herself

My ds never, ever, drank his bottle in one go, or finish it within the allowed hour.

I use to watch my friends babies finish theirs in 10mins and me and ds would still be at an hour later

Now he's on cows milk in a cup he still takes an hour to drink the most of it, and somedays he doesn't come close to finishing it.

I wouldn't worry, it's just how they are, don't think you can change it!

can't you just make up smaller bottles?

also if she was a snacker on breast then maybe that's just the way she is!

are you a snacker yourself? my bfing counsellor has a theory that snackers beget snackers as that's how they've been trained in the womb. (i certainly got one, that's for sure. if i'm ever pregnant again i'm going for 3 solid meals a day).

my 10 month old dd has rarely finished a bottle, but then i never wanted her to really. it is more of a pain but demand feeding is the way to go, it's so much better for them in the long run, especially when it comes to weaning. (imho )
